yu todoroki dinner show

The Palace Hotel Tokyo is delighted to announce that theatre legend Yu Todoroki will be performing at our venue this September as part of the Takarazuka Revue!

This spellbinding all-female dinner show combines music, theatre and dance to provide an iconoclastic take on Japanese cultural traditions, with Todoroki fronting the ensemble. The switching of gender roles is key to the Revue’s success, as the androgynous Todoroki plays the lead male role (or ‘otokoyaku’) in a story that takes in comedy, tragedy and drama.

With a career spanning almost 40 years in the industry, Yu Todoroki is one of the biggest names in Japanese theatre and is now a ‘Senka’ (superior member) of the Takarazuka Revue.

The Revue’s popularity has endured for over a century and continues going from strength to strength. The Palace Hotel Tokyo productions, composed by Sumio Sakai, will be conducted by the Flower troupe – an energetic group famous for their bold, colourful performances.

Due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, Japan is closed to international travellers – so this captivating show is currently only available to people living in the country. All shows are complicit with current COVID-19 guidelines, which are subject to change according to government advice.

Tickets are priced at ¥31,000 and include a meal and drinks, with the shows set to take place on 21-22 September 2021.

We are thrilled to have the Yu Todoroki performance coming in the fall, and look forward to sharing more details about the show in the coming months. Sign up to our newsletter to receive booking details as soon as they are released.
